Moshi to Arusha, fly to Iringa, meet our hosts, welcome party.
Outbound to Iringa, May 22, 2024

After a fine breakfast at Chanya Lodge in Moshi, we loaded up and departed for Arusha Airport. It was a long drive but there was a nice stretch of new smooth highway which had recently been built by Chinese contractors. We boarded a Cessna turbo prop plane which had just enough room for the 12 of us.
It had an unpressurized cabin so I really felt the altitude at 12,000 feet with my compromised lungs.

After landing at Iringa Airport, we were greeted by our 2 new guides who took us to the Lutheran Center where our hosts were waiting to greet us. It was wonderful to meet Carol and my host, Shadrack, who took us to his home to meet his wife Rosemary and their children Charity,15 and Rob,3. They made us very welcome in their home. Later we went to a Welcome Dinner at another host's home and we tried sitting outside but the mosquitos attacked so we moved indoors. We were treated to drinks and dinner and everyone had a good time.
